I'm not sure, and I may be wrong, but I thought these were Japanese, not chinese....hence the Goldwings.

Ah yes, the Goldwing emergency hauler. I think these have been deployed extensively all around Asia, and I remember seeing a video about them in German, or Finnish or something too, so I guess there a few in European cities as well.
It's a brilliant concept: a tow truck than can lane-split to the location of a disabled vehicle! Even when there is no pull-off and traffic is backed up behind you can still remove the blockage.
Also: yes, towing a race car with this would be AWESOME ;)

I originally thought that too, but I dont know the proliferation of the VW Santana in Japan

They are made in Japan, there's actually a couple different outfits that have competing Goldwing-based hauler designs I think, or at least I've seen a couple different styles... all based on Goldwings though. Finally a practical use for that much engine in a huge, cushy bike!
edit: the ones shown are "The Retriever" originally made in Sweden. (or perfect copies of it)

In true japanese fashion, Panasport (replicas?) on the utility end of the device.

haha! yeah I see that now!

I still think the 'Wing is slow and ugly as sin compared to the Straight-6 barnstormer.

Nope, my bad: made in Sweden!

And yet, the tow rating on my CUV is only 1000 lbs, including trailer...

As much as I am a BMW guy, I would prefer this one

Are those Panasport replicas?
You know what, I bet they are 10" Mini wheels.

There is one at a dealership, Grey fairing and all. Felt nice until I saw that rear wheel. Holy hell were 20th century standards lacking.

I've never seen these in Finland. Out of curiosity I went looking for videos from Youtube and found one that showed footage from Sweden and somewhere in Middle East.
